The main part of the book finished at the end of chapter 5. Had the sixth chapter been published, it would have included the following text, from which the sixth question is taken.

     "Ah, but that is for you to find out." Her eyes sparkled and the hint of a smile flicked the corners of her mouth. You could sense that she was enjoying it and I wondered how many of the others in the group had struggled through the confusions and contradictions that she presented. Then reality kicked in. She was young enough to be the daughter of any one of them, so how could that be! 

     "Let's just say that he is the only one to point the way to the truth; but so dull in appearance, and short of that which is expected."   Before I could even ask her to explain, she was in the car and reversing skillfully and at great speed down the lane. As she disappeared from view, I turned and made my way back into the cottage. There, sitting on the gate post - apparently oblivious to my presence - was the lone magpie, preening his tail feathers.
